– This is really one of the best translator apps I have seen. It is free and uses the Google translator service in an IM format to instantly translate. Works great!! I highly recommend it!
– There has been a lot of talk about using Netbooks more in education. This article gives three reasons why they wouldn’t be useful. I happen to think those may not apply to education, at least certainly not to younger kids… they are perfect for them.
Processing Speed… they just need one browser at this poing.
Keyboard size… I find younger kids do better with a smaller keyboard.
Screen size… they are just happy to have their own computer. ๐
I still think netbooks will be useful in education.

I believe it is only a matter of time before students start demanding electronic books. They’re cheaper, they’re searchable, they’re mobile, and they’re even getting annotatable (is that a word… it will be one day)! Keep an eye on this one!

– This is really another great example of Google pushing the limits. Right now there isn’t too much sharing built into this new feature, but I imagine it won’t be long before you can share an annotated pages of results with a class to teach them about good searching… or a topics… or…
